Description

Kloovenburgs vineyards are situated in the heart of Swartland, South Africas sweetheart region for growing top-notch Shiraz, Chenin Blanc, and Pinotage. Jolandie Fouche has been making wines at the estate since 2015 and has brought a new wave of life to this family estates vinification program. The Gatekeepers Proprietary White is a 50/20/20 blend of Chenin Blanc, Grenache Blanc, and Roussanne, rounded out with 10% Verdelho. Grapes are picked early and cooled overnight to preserve natural acidity and freshness. Following natural fermentation in steel, the wine then ages for six months in barrel before being blended and bottled. The final wine shows honeyed notes of tropical fruit, pineapple, green apple skin, and sand. Serve with chicken, creamy pasta dishes, or grilled salmon.
