Weingut Emmerich Knoll is a third-generation winery, farming 15 hectares of vines in the heart of the Wachau in Austria. Their Gruner Veltliner and Riesling grow on steep, terraced vineyards, producing legendary cuves, deemed some of the best expressions of these varieties in the world. We’re very exciting about the wines coming out of Austria right now, and Knoll is no doubt one of the icons. This bottle can be enjoy now or saved for another decade. We love that it opens with a savory, yeasty character yet goes long with a linear, mineral finish. It’s super complex and some of us drink this wine when we’re in a beer mood, but it’s also an excellent bottle for meals of crunchy salads, seafood, or big plates veggie pasta.
