Description
Chateau Thivin was built in the heart of Brouilly on an ancient volcano in the 15th century, making it one of the oldest estates within the region. The winery has withstood the test of time amongst a slew of hardships (Depression, World Wars, etc.), even receiving praises from some of Frances greatest novelists. Their Cote de Brouilly parcels average 50 years in age and are farmed without the use of chemicals. Fruit is hand-harvested and whole cluster fermented, followed by aging in oak foudre for six months. Although the wine is drinking beautifully now, we recommend waiting another five years to really experience how magical this wine can be.
