Located in the heart of Pauillac, this second wine from the legendary Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste is an absolutely killer alternative for Left Bank blends on a budget. Fruit for this cuve comes from 55 hectares of vines rooted into one of Bordeauxs most prestigious appellations and is vinified by Francois-Xavier Borie, who has run the show at GPL for decades. This cuve is Cabernet dominant (60%) rounded out with Merlot (30%) and Cabernet Franc (10%). Flavors of cassis, red fruits, leather, cigar box ,and cedar dominate this medium-bodied stunner.
