Do you have a draft of a script you are looking to take to the next level? Want to do it with a group of supportive, motivating peers? If so, this class is for you!

Archestratus Accademia is excited to announce our inaugural PART TWO of Sophie Teaches Screenwriting course. We are offering a continuation of the course for anyone looking to finish or revise a script.

Local hero and screenwriting professor Sophie Finkelstein will continue to explore the craft of screenwriting and take you through the universal art of storytelling.

Between lectures from Sophie, powerful readings, curated films and more, you will be deeply inspired to take your script to where it needs to go. Everyone will be given a chance to deep dive on their script in a class workshop setting. You will walk out with further clarity, creative juices flowing, and a whole new community of like-minded writers.

This seven week course will provide a safe, supportive space to help you achieve your creative goals. You will finally have the tools to tell the story youve always wanted to tell.

Please note: Having taken part one is NOT a requirement. This class is for writers who are in progresswith an early draft of a pilot or film. Drafts will be submitted BEFORE the first class.

HOW TO APPLY:

WE WILL BE ASKING INTERESTED PARTIES TO FILL OUT A BRIEF APPLICATION FOLLOWED BY AN INTERVIEW. WE WILL ACCEPT APPROXIMATELY 11 STUDENTS AND WILL BE HOLDING ONE SCHOLARSHIP SPOT FOR THOSE NOT IN A FINANCIAL PLACE TO AFFORD IT RIGHT NOW.

LEAVE A $15 DEPOSIT AND WE WILL EMAIL YOU WITH THE APPLICATION FORM. FULL TUITION IS $695. IF YOU ARE TAKING THE CLASS, THE $15 WILL BE APPLIED TO YOUR TUITION. IF YOU ARE NOT TAKING THE CLASS, WE CAN REFUND IT BACK TO YOU IN A TIMELY MANNER.

STUDENTS THAT HAVE ALREADY TAKEN PART ONE WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY ACCEPTED, BUT PLEASE HOLD YOUR SPOT WITH A DEPOSIT.

Above all, we hope you will grow as writers, storytellers, collaborators, creative thinkers, and artists and learn why we tell stories, how to tell your own stories and the value of being able to critically look at the stories around us.

The instructor, SOPHIE FINKELSTEIN, has an MFA in Screenwriting and TV Writing from Columbia University and is currently a screenwriting professor at Hunter College. She spent over a decade working in Independent Film Production and at film festivals across the country and is now in development on several of her own film and television projects.
